Days? Months? For some it felt like years they'd been waiting for the release of the amazing new VRMMO, Quest Online. Said to take place in a world consisting of one hundred different floors, and let people test out the virtual reality gaming field to its fullest, heightened extent. Quest was the dream of gamers all over. Instantly when the clock displayed 6:00 Am everyone plugged in their Versa Helmet and was submerged to the game. 100,000 Players all at once dived into the wonderful make believe world of Quest Online.
Game Intro:
The light flickered, the system registered to the neuro-patterns of each person specifically, and then the beginning music to the game. A powerful scroll that spelled heroics. most would skip the cut scene, too excited to deal with cinematic; but for those that watched. They would see thousands of players charging against the foot of what looked only to be a giant humanoid warrior. They fired catapults, and climbed the warrior. Some went completely invisible and others moved about like they were the air itself. The giants fist came down, and a large man with a great sword moved to intercept the blow deflecting the creature back hard, as a spear sailed through the air to plant itself in the monsters eye. The cinematic was brilliant in its own right and only did more to hype everyone for the game they were about to play. Eventually it ended and the Options showed up.

Fingers couldn't move fast enough to hit the Start New Character option and be flung head first into the character creation options.
Character Creation:
Immediately a base avatar was shown. They wore a deep grey armor piece, with one cap over their shoulder, and slacks underneath that fit tight to the avatars bodies. The options however were phenomenal. There were no races, so everything was equal in its own right. You could still spend hours looking through every hair option, and just toggling the color gradient. In the right hand corner was an Option. Fashion Shop:
If anyone was able to resist at least checking out the options available in the fashion shop, then kudos to them, but the options really gave way to make extremely unique avatars. Cat ears, tails, fake markings that were unique and un-lockable by special promo codes. Almost anything you could ask for, it was an option here, for those that had money logged onto the card they were using to verify their identity.
So with enough time spent into Character creation, next came the Class choice, and Weapon Style basis. After that, it was Life skill choice, and all the basic info you wanted to release in your characters profile. With an itchy finger, the finish player can't keep themselves from clicking the Finish button.
Welcome:
Another flash of light, a tunnel and there it was. Opening your eyes for the first time in this beautiful game, you can see the first city you will ever encounter in this world. Its anyone's game after that. Most would move to test out fighting mechanics and others crafting. it was a world for players to enjoy, to really get the actual feel of VRMMO gaming. What none of them knew however, was discovered far too late.
It was quite the epidemic, when the players realized it. Shouting ensued and the place became frantic. No one was able to log out... but was that it?
Trap:
Anyone who was not currently engaged in a battle was suddenly transported back to grand Masai, stationed in a large mass within the main meeting square of the city. Each of the players were beyond confused, but what could they do but mumble to themselves and try and figure things out on their own. The answer to their questions came soon enough however, as the sky itself turned a bloody red. A calm voice seemed to reign from the sky above, like a God speaking upon Shepherds. In this case, sheep.
"Good morning to all of you brave souls, I am Haden, Kirinsin, director and lead designer to Quest Online. Some of you might have already discovered your inability to log out. I expect you have many questions, and so i have brought you all here to answer them." The voice paused, for a second adding the the drama of the situation. "It is not a glitch. You are not bugged. In fact, the mechanic was something I had installed since the very beginning. None of you are going home, at least.. not today. or tomorrow." The players looked to each other confused, some of them outraged, but the voice continued. "You will not leave here, not until you have completed the Quest you've set out on. You will not leave this world until you have cleared every single floor and faced the final trial at the end." The crowd was half silent, and the rest shouted their curses to the sky. Most were in absolute denial. Haden continued.
"I understand you are angry. You will need your anger, and your conviction to make it to the end I assure you. Also I have one final surprise. Though, ill be careful not to ruin it for you. here is your hint." The whole sky vanished, and what replaced it was a news broad cast, about a sudden panic, over 3,000 people just died, while playing the massively popular and anticipated Quest online. Some parents say that when they found their child their heart had stopped entirely. There was no saving them after that. Others tried to remove their child's helmet, and when the connection was severed the child was killed on the spot. The players watched with fear, but then the video flashed to another news broadcast. "And my gift to you." Haden said before the news reporters voice drowned out his own. Surprisingly enough they spoke of a very large donation of money and support to house and maintain the players in a secure environment, feeding them through life support and keeping their bodies healthy while they endured whatever it was that was going on in Quest. The support would last them years. "There you have it. All that I will tell you. Enjoy this world to its fullest, and I look forward to meeting the one that clears this game." The sky instantly turned to normal, and things became still. The panic was insane that followed... and many more died very quickly after that incident. The world had become more than a game now. Every day in Quest was a day of survival. The Death trap Game, Quest Online.
